Meet the Committee

Gareth Jones

Originally from Cwmbran Gareth has lived in Caerphilly for 27 years. He is married with 2 grown up daughters. He retired from the bank in 2008 and as an ex-banker is ideally suited to being our treasurer and fund raising co-ordinator. He enjoys reading, watching rugby - especially when Wales win and spending time with his family.

Jean Pritchard

Jean can normally be found working at the Reception desk at the Manor itself. In a previous life, she spent 25 years at Stuart Crystal in her home town of Aberbargoed. For the last 18 years she has both taught and practiced holistic therapies.

Louise Kenyon

Louise lives in Trethomas and is a self employed piano, clarinet and music theory tutor. She is studying for an Open University humanities degree and is currently taking Latin classes (just for fun!). As well as having an interest in various local heritage issues, Louise enjoys pottering around in her gardening and researching her family history.

Meirwen Jones

With a keen interest in history and photography, Meirwen is enjoying the task of co-ordinating the Friends newsletter and related publicity. Although a far cry from her day job as a project manager for a children’s charity, Meirwen is hoping to maintain the high standards set by previous publicity officers.

Wendy Davies

Wendy is married to Colin and together they have two sons. Their eldest son has a BA in Business Management and their youngest is a Chef. Having been on the committee for approximately ten years, she finds it very rewarding, especially as she was involved with building a replica of a 16th Century merchants’ lodge using natural materials.

Angela Murrell

Angela started her career as a hairdresser, owning her own salon for almost 20 years. Then, needing a change, she did a BTEC in business studies with travel and tourism options and was a receptionist and admin assistant at Llancaiach until she retired in May 2013. She attended trade fairs to source goods for the gift shop. She is happily married to Brian and has two children and one grandchild.

Jan Fitzgerald

Jan was born in New Tredegar and attended Bedwellty Grammar school. At 18 she went to Hereford to train as an SRN and met her future husband. She has 2 children and 7 grandchildren. She visited Llanacaich just after it opened and loved it.  As volunteer coordinator she meets many interesting people. She is also involved with the Winding House Museum in New Tredegar.
